Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems Certification. The achievement follows a successful Quality Management Systems Audit conducted by Axe Register, encompassing various crucial aspects of the organization’s operations.
The audit encompassed the evaluation of the Standards Department’s pivotal role in developing national and regional standards for products and services, along with assessments of other essential functions, including Human Resources, Customer Complaint Handling, Corporate Planning, and the Procurement Disposal Unit.
The ISO 9001 certification is set to enhance UNBS’ service delivery by establishing credibility and trust among stakeholders. By implementing processes with consistent and replicable results, the Bureau aims to elevate customer satisfaction and foster the integration of internal policies and procedures. Additionally, this recognition is expected to enhance UNBS’ image and reputation, demonstrating its commitment to continuous improvement.
The ISO 9001 certification cycle spans three years, from 27th July 2023 to 27th July 2026. To maintain this esteemed status, UNBS will undergo annual audits, ensuring the Bureau’s continued adherence to the rigorous quality standards.
This achievement not only marks a moment of pride for the Uganda National Bureau of Standards but also presents opportunities for potential partnerships that could further bolster the organization’s standing in the industry.
