Police in Bushenyi District have successfully identified the two victims who tragically lost their lives in yesterday’s accident on the Ishaka Kasese road.
According to Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the greater Bushenyi police, the deceased have been identified as Alex Gumusiriza, aged 42, and Godfrey Ahimbisibwe, aged 40. Both individuals were residents of Nyabubare in Kashekuro, Sheema District.
The accident involved a silver grey Actros trailer with registration number UBK 032P/855E. The trailer was being driven by Bashiri Mukiibi, a 52-year-old resident of Ndege Aiden College Lubugumu, Makindye Division, Kampala. The incident occurred at Butare trading center near Bam petrol station along the Ishaka to Kasese highway.
Tragically, the trailer collided with a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle that had two people on board. Regrettably, both occupants of the motorcycle lost their lives at the scene of the accident.
Following the incident, the bodies of the victims were taken to Kitagata hospital for autopsy, and the investigation into the matter is currently underway.
