Kanungu District | The Black Examiner – The territorial police in Kanungu registered a case of alleged homosexuality against a 28-year-old man, Akim Kamugisha, who resides in Butogota central ward/town council of Kanungu district.
According to the Kigezi Police spokesperson, Elly Mate, it was alleged that since the beginning of July 2023, the suspect had been befriending a student named Nahabwe Travor, who resided in Butogota Rutwe cell, Southern ward, Butogota town council. The suspect took Travor to a bar, where he bought him three bottles of Guinness. They left the bar around 03:00 AM and went to the suspect’s home, where the suspect forcibly sodomized Travor while capturing the act on video.
After committing the wrongful act, the suspect threatened Travor, warning him not to disclose the information to his parents or anyone else, as he would expose the video to the media.
On the same morning at around 06:00 AM, Travor returned to his home, but the suspect called him back to his place and threatened him again, stating that if he refused to comply, he would expose the video. Travor reluctantly went back and was once again sodomized.
Information about the suspect’s behavior began to leak, indicating that he had attempted to sodomize another person, 20-year-old Iragaba Brendan, who also resided at the same address. The suspect lured Brendan into the act by promising him a job at Amber Heart of Great Singer Baby Cool. Brendan was elated and the suspect gave him 50,000 as transport money for the supposed job.
Later that day, at approximately 09:00 PM, the suspect called Brendan to come to his home, claiming a vehicle would pick him up from Kampala to take him to Amber Heart. Upon arriving at the suspect’s house, Brendan was locked inside, and the suspect forcefully attempted to sodomize him. However, Brendan fought back bravely and managed to free himself from the attacker’s clutches.
Traumatized by the continuous abuse, Brendan eventually revealed the information about the incidents.
The case of homosexuality was reported on 28/07/2023, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect and a subsequent visit to the crime scene.
