Fortportal East Division police have taken into custody a school patron identified as Ssali Joash, 37, from Kasisi Day and Boarding Primary School. He had been evading authorities but was apprehended in Bugongi village, Sheema district.

The suspect is facing serious allegations of aggravated defilement and sodomy, specifically targeting three male pupils in the school’s boarding section. The police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, reported that the case was brought to their attention on June 12, 2023.

Medical examinations confirmed that one of the pupils suffered from a ruptured anus, indicating evidence of penetration. However, the other two victims tested negative for such physical injuries. Nonetheless, all three boys have been deeply affected psychologically and are currently receiving psycho-social support.

The police unequivocally denounce any form of sexual violence within educational institutions. They are committed to ensuring that the school patron is held accountable for these heinous acts of child sexual abuse.
