The Former Minister of Defense Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga has urged parents to provide effective care, basic necessities and guidance for their children if they are to excel in academic.
He advised parents and guardians to pack lunch for their children, monitor sanitation and Hygiene at school and fight hard to counter the adverse foreign influences that the children are absorbing at a tender and impressionable age.Â
Addressing the press at NRM District head office in Kasese town this afternoon, Dr Kiyonga said children and young adults have been mostly influenced by the advent of foreign culture and life styles because the families have failed to instill them with the traditional culture and behavioral norms as it used to be in the past.
Dr. Kiyonga asked farmers to grow cassava and millet flour to fight malnutrition since Uganda is among the countries worldwide experiencing climate change.
