Kahuro, Murang’A, Kenya | The Black Examiner – In Kahuro Murang’a County, a 28-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of murdering his two sons on Sunday, August 6, 2023.
Evans Kang’ethe, who fled the scene after the crime, was discovered at Gakoigo in Maragua while he was on his way to Maragua town.
Witnesses claimed that the suspect appeared to be mentally unstable at the time of his arrest.
After being frog-matched to the Gakoigo Police Station, the word of his arrest spread quickly like a bush fire, drawing hordes of onlookers who were baying for his blood.
“The cops ought to hand the man over to us. Rather than prosecuting him in court, we will deal with him, one of the locals stated.
The outraged mob, which was ready to punish the man they accused of killing innocent children, was giving police difficulties to contain.
Kang’ethe was taken to a police car and driven to Kahuro Police Station, where the incident was reported.
The suspect will be arraigned in court on Wednesday morning to answer to allegations of murder, according to Titus Nzaka, Kahuro Criminal Investigating Officer.
On Sunday, Kang’ethe is thought to have killed his two sons, ages three and seven, by hacking them to death for an unidentified cause.
He had been caring for the kids since their mother left the house after a domestic argument a few weeks prior. The two are alleged to have had a tumultuous relationship that caused their split.
Ann Wanjiru, the mother of the suspect, claimed that the young guy had a peculiar habit of calling people names and threatening to harm them in order to induce dread in them.
Wanjiru revealed that one of the instances involved Kang’ethe attacking his father and threatening to murder him over a dispute regarding a plot of property.
The son should be prosecuted for his awful deed, which has shocked the entire town, according to Wanjiru.
She continued, “I don’t know why their father killed them in such a brutal manner, and I’m still in shock over the killing of my grandkids.
