Luwero District | The Black Examiner – The police in Luwero district have apprehended Gift Namyalo on suspicions of strangling her co-wife’s one-month-old daughter to death.

The incident transpired on a Saturday around 11:00 am within Kabembe village, situated in Makulubita sub-county. The deceased infant has been identified as Moreen Nakirijja, daughter of Betty Nakiyimba.

Both Namyalo and Nakiyimba share the status of co-wives to Brian Lule. As the narrative goes, Namyalo visited her mother-in-law and, during her visit, observed Nakiyimba departing to fetch water.

Taking swift action, Namyalo entered Nakiyimba’s dwelling, where she found the infant and reportedly committed the act of strangulation. Subsequently, she closed the door and attempted to flee, but her actions were witnessed by Ibra, the deceased’s uncle. Ibra pursued her, raising an alarm that alerted the community and led to Namyalo’s apprehension.

She was subsequently taken into custody at the Makulubita police post. Meanwhile, Nakirijja’s body has been conveyed to the Mulago city mortuary for postmortem analysis.
