Kasese, Uganda | The Black Examiner – In Kasese district, Hima Division Police are detaining two individuals as part of an ongoing investigation into the murder of an 80-year-old woman.
During his weekly media briefing at the Regional Police headquarters this morning, SP Nelson Tumushiime, the Police Spokesperson for the Rwenzori East Region, announced that the detained suspects will assist the police in their inquiry into the tragic death of Muhasa Vanisa Kanyere, a resident of Bughendero village in Buhuhira sub-county.
SP Tumushiime shared that the unfortunate incident occurred on August 8th, 2023, when Vanisa was attacked while preparing food in her kitchen. She was promptly rescued and taken to Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Kasese town, where she was later declared deceased.
Regarding the arrests, SP Tumushiime appealed for calm, assuring the public that the police are actively investigating the case.
