Four Perish In Kassanda Accident

Kassanda District | The Black Examiner – The Accident happened on Sunday morning at Myanzi Trading Centre in Kassanda District, situated along the Mubende-Mityana highway, resulting in the loss of four individuals. The victims have been identified as Grace Nambusi, aged 40, hailing from Kikajo, Namasuba, Wakiso District; Bright Patrick, aged 34, a resident and businessperson based in Kibiri-Busabaala, Wakiso District; and Lydia Nadunga, aged 42, a businesswoman residing in Kalerwe.

The unfortunate event unfolded when a black Fuso Fighter motor vehicle, bearing registration UAY 415C, was transporting a load of matooke, en route from Mubende to Kampala. The vehicle encountered a brake failure, leading to a loss of control that ultimately caused it to overturn. This catastrophic event resulted in the immediate death of four occupants while leaving three others injured. The injured individuals have been swiftly transported to Mityana Hospital for essential medical attention. Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been conveyed to Kassanda Health Center IV mortuary, where they await postmortem examinations.

Regional Police Spokesperson Rachel Kawala shared the details of the incident in a statement released on Sunday. She confirmed that the motor vehicle involved has been towed to Myanzi Police Station, pending an Inspection of Vehicles (IOV) assessment.
