Kyamuswa County MP Moses Kabuusu expressed concern over the safety of water transport, pointing out that the incident was likely caused by mechanical issues. He questioned whether the government had any plans to enhance water transport safety in the region.
In response to the catastrophe, the Minister of State for Transport, Fred Byamukama, informed MPs that the government extended its condolences to the grieving families. He also assured the public that authorities are diligently working on regulations to ensure the safety of water transport.
