If you’re encountering the error message “You need the official WhatsApp to use this account,” there are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

  1. Update WhatsApp: Make sure you have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your device. Go to your device’s app store (Google Play Store for Android or App Store for iOS) and check for any available updates for WhatsApp. Updating the app may resolve any compatibility issues.

2. Clear Cache and Data: Sometimes, accumulated cache and data can cause issues with the app. Try clearing the cache and data for WhatsApp on your device. Here’s how you can do it:

Android: Go to “Settings” > “Apps” or “Application Manager” > “WhatsApp.” Tap on “Storage” and select “Clear Cache” and “Clear Data.”
iOS: Go to “Settings” > “General” > “iPhone Storage” (or “Storage” on older iOS versions) > “WhatsApp.” Tap on “Offload App” or “Delete App.” Afterward, reinstall WhatsApp from the App Store.
Reinstall WhatsApp: Uninstall WhatsApp from your device and then reinstall it from the respective app store. This can help to resolve any underlying issues with the application. However, before doing this, make sure to backup your WhatsApp data to avoid losing any important messages or media.

3. Check Account Verification: Ensure that you are using the correct phone number and that it is properly verified with WhatsApp. If you’ve recently changed your phone number or SIM card, you may need to verify the new number with WhatsApp.

4. Use Official WhatsApp: Make sure you’re using the official WhatsApp application downloaded from a trusted source, such as the Google Play Store or App Store. Third-party or modified versions of WhatsApp may cause compatibility issues and result in the error message you’re seeing.

WORKING SOLUTION: If you’re still encountering the error message “You need the official WhatsApp to use this account,” Seeing that error means your number was blacklisted or banned by WhatsApp.

The only solution is to write them an email, it should appear like this and send to: support@whatsapp.com

The email subject should be: WhatsApp Banned Number Help
